About OttawaMEDTECH

Canada, like many countries, is seeking to manage rising healthcare costs and improve the delivery of healthcare in part largely driven by the health needs of its aging population. Medical technologies are playing an increasingly important role in helping to improve access to care and make healthcare more efficient. Novel applications, ongoing innovation and new partnerships are driving the medical technologies sector forward in response to these opportunities. OCRI is recognizing that Ottawa’s diverse medical technologies community is making its mark by improving the quality of life of people and patients. OttawaMEDTECH, an OCRI Life Sciences initiative, is positioning itself to support local medical technology companies and entrepreneurs succeed. OttawaMEDTECH also acknowledges the role others play in supporting or nurturing that success, from service companies, research institutes, to government funders. The medical technologies sector is increasingly important to this city. Our goal is to support and nurture the emerging growth of a diverse medical technologies sector including medical devices, convergent technologies, and informatics in medical research and healthcare.
